Biography:
Alfred is someone who lives with a lot of disclosure and grief, prompting him to be a selfish, reserved
man. Alfred's clock became defected somewhere after being reborn several times, causing him to have
a face that was irrelevant to the game.

The soon-to-be Chief was only 2 years old when he was found and forced to live with his uncle in the
forbidden forest that was considered taboo. His parents both faceless cards, did their best to hide Alfred from the authorities.
Alas, a neighbor found out the Merrill family's secret and informed the police. The little boy, confused, was banished into oblivion.
He wasn't an abnormal case, however. This "deformity" amongst cards ran in the Merrill family. His Uncle Barnett was born
with a face, as well as his cousin and his great grandfather.

Despite being loved deeply by his parents, Alfred grew up to think that they didn't want him -- that they
willingly gave him away to Barnett because he was a monstrosity. These feelings quickly turned into
anger, and is what began the spark of hatred that he had for everyone around him. This chip on his
shoulder is something he carried for him his whole life, and he never did find out the truth of what really
happened, and who his parents really were.

Barnett was a good role model to the boy, and treated him as an equal. Little Alfred was taught to do great things at a
fairly young age. Barnett taught his nephew how to fight; how to defend himself. These skills, overtime, would become something
great. Something Alfred could use to make a name for himself in what was known as the Forest of the Damned.

But, of course, with great power comes great responsibility. Initially, Alfred used the techniques he learned from
his Uncle for chaos. With a lot of bitterness and anger in his heart, the only way he knew how to deal with his anger was through violence.
He often got into fights with the local kids and would come home with his face swollen and bruised and his arms

all cut up. He was considered a delinquent and not many of the parents around the Forest of Illusions approved of
him. It was as if he couldn't fit in anywhere. The lonely boy didn't know how to have friends and, afraid of rejection, didn't allow himself
to get close to kids his age. His vicious, angry attitude scared potential friends of his away, and the little boy was all alone.

All until he met a special girl, who he would later dedicate his whole existence to.

Dinah Willowfield. A beautiful little girl who was a little younger than him. Dinah was just like him - alone and afraid.
The only difference, however, was Dinah wanted to make friends. She was the current Chief of the FOI's daughter, and
was forbidden to leave the house. While he was free, she was trapped. Hesitant to open up to her, Alfred gave her the
cold shoulder and refused to become her friend. With much persistence and encouragement, the child managed to tame the boy and
they became friends. Despite there being a wall between them, they bonded and talked everyday until Alfred went on his way.

As Alfred grew, he became more mature. At the age of 13, he desperately wanted to make a name for himself.
Alfred continued his training sessions with Barnett to find his own techniques. Eventually, the blooming young man discovered that
he possessed the powers of illusions, a power given to Rejects. However, such a technique was extremely difficult to learn. In order to master
the power of illusions, he left his home and began traveling the forest in search of mentors who would teach him how to properly use
his abilities. As Alfred grew stronger with his powers, he found a joy in scaring people around him and making people suffer. It was a sick and twisted
game to him, and he enjoyed all the misery he brought. He enjoyed his new founded power.

At the age of 15, Alfred joined the Rejected Union - a line of authority created by different illusions.
He strengthened his powers and encountered many monsters and puzzles that the Forest of Illusions had thrown at him. He was able to
overcome them and outsmart the Forest of Illusions, proving his dominance.

After his training came to an end, the young man returned to the little village hidden in the FOI.
A year later, he was looked to as the man of the village. By then, his name became well known and many Rejects knew what he was capable of.
It was rare for someone so young to have mastered such a difficult skill. Alfred reunited with Dinah and served as a protective guardian
over her - requested by her father.

Alfred is currently next in line to serve as the Chief of the Forest of Illusions after Dinah's father.

Personality:
Rude, sarcastic, mean -- Alfred is anything but a good person. There's not a hint of politeness in him, and Alfred always
says what's on his mind, even if it's offensive and insulting. Described as a man who has a chip on his shoulder,
Alfred can't see the good in anything in Wonderland and thinks everything is pointless. Others call him a tsundere.
He loves cussing and swearing and everything is always rowdy when he's around.

Alfred's rather selfish, as he only cares about himself and the people who manage to get close to him.
Everything he does is for his own benefit, and he rarely helps anyone in need. Even a child isn't enough
to appeal to his good nature -- simply because he doesn't have one.

He's someone with an extremely hot temper, and anything can set him off. He's constantly in a bad mood, even
when nothing's wrong and he's not bothered. Alfred's rather pessimistic. It's not that he can't be happy, he just
doesn't want to.

He tends to speak down on everyone, and has a huge superiority complex.

Alfred is very sarcastic. Most of the things he says are sarcastic, and his sharp tongue is enough
to put someone on edge. He'll usually exaggerated things for the sake of his sarcasm. It's probably
one of the main reasons why people hate him so much. It shows that he doesn't really care and is pretty cocky.

He tends to lie a lot and is never true to himself. When a fact is pointed out, he usually denies it and he tries
to convince himself that it's a lie, even when it's reality. He also hides his feelings a lot. When people ask him if he's okay, he'll lie
and say that he's fine. He doesn't want to let people in, and feels like no one understands him. Also, he thinks that showing people who he
really is will make him look really weak and vulnerable. It's just another way to use him or take advantage of him. He's very mean and
won't hesitate in insulting or threatening someone. He's very narrow-minded in a way. He doesn't know how to hold back his tongue or keep his words to
himself, and likes to speak his mind; be it nice or mean.

He also has trouble showing affection, as he's not use to being around people. He has his own way
of appreciating and respecting someone, though. In Dinah's case, he belittles her and calls her names,
but he doesn't actually mean it. It's just to hide the fact that he actually cares about her.

He's also capable of getting really jealous and possessive, and when he does, he's more than willing to step
in and pick a fight. That, or he'll pout in silence and walk off to go be angry somewhere else.

He's more brute than brains, as he'll pull out his sub machines without hesitation if he feels he or someone he cares about
is threatened. Because he's so impetuous, he's trigger happy. He'd rather resort to violence than talking
things through. He's also narrow minded, and doesn't like listening to excuses.

Alfred does have a caring side, though, as he's overprotective and cares deeply about the ones that he loves.
He'd use himself as a shield if it meant protecting Dinah or anyone else that he loves or respects. This
does get out of hand, as his overprotective nature can lead to complications and fights.

Despite all of his negative qualities, Alfred has a hidden soft side that no one's ever seen. In certain situations he
can look and act like a true gentleman, and he has a charming side to him. This requires real effort, though, and
he won't ever change who he is unless the moment is right. He's also known to be really good at ball room
dancing, as Dinah had taught him. He worries a lot, but doesn't show it. He's also romantic when he actually
tries and caring to his family and friends.. In his own special, Alfred way.

Relationships (For you to update)

:iconnot-an-illusion:
Dinah's been Alfred's only friend for god knows how many years, and he
loves her more than anything in this world. Despite his obvious affection for her,
he doesn't want to be more than what they are. Not because he's afraid of
rejection, or he's in denial -- but because he cares for her so much that he
doesn't want to be the one to tie her down. It's a weird thought process,
but he knows that Dinah's been captured and caged by her father for
years. He doesn't want to take her newly founded freedom away by
keeping her to himself, because he knows that's what he's going to do.

He understands that Dinah's naive about love and doesn't feel the same
way towards him, and he'd feel as though he'd be taking advantage of her by
pursuing her. So, instead, he'd rather watch from the sidelines -- watch
her finally live her life and fall in love with someone else. And he's content on
doing the same.
